Hi there! Welcome to my little corner of the world!
I’m Emma from Emmabella’s of Vermont and it’s so good to have you here! About me: I spent my younger years living and working on my grandparent’s farm; weeding vegetable gardens that seemed endless in the eyes of a 5-year old, eating fresh tomatoes right off of the vines, collecting eggs from the chicken coop and days of playing hide-and-seek in the towering rows of corn.
Late summer days were spent picking all the veggies, along with peaches, plums and cherries from the small orchard and then becoming a part of the assembly line as we canned, pickled and pressure cooked those items, lining them on pantry shelves to savor the flavors of summer during the winter months. I will be forever grateful for the value of hard-work that was instilled when I was so young and also self-reliance that comes with it.
As an individual who spent most of her career working within in a cubicle in the finance industry – I REALLY needed a creative outlet! With a chef for a father, and an artist for a mother – it was only a matter of time when I would figure out a way to combine the two. Emmabella’s of Vermont, LLC was established out of that need (and most importantly, with the support of my hubby) in the fall of 2008. Which is (in my humble opinion), the absolute prettiest time of the year. Please tell me you have been to New England during the foliage season!? But I digress….
My cookbooks line cupboards and bookshelves, that bend under the weight of them all. These books have become a source of comfort and relaxation for me. These are my novels. Within their pages lie romance, mystery, science fiction and sometimes (I’m sad to say) perhaps even a little bit of horror. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
But seriously – if you have never been to Vermont during the fall – you are missing out on some amazing colors, great people and an incredible diverse culinary experience.
